I'm Jeff Chicarelli, an Italian Brazilian Digital Nomad Computational Designer & Software Engineer based in São Paulo, Brazil. As a professional with deep knowledge in digital design technologies, I've worked with the Architecture Association Visiting Schools during my time at the office SUBdV Architecture. After that, I've partnered The League of Architectural Studies where I ministered Rhino and Grasshopper workshops. Then, I entered Perkins&Will São Paulo, where I’ve been working for almost two years as a BIM Architect and climate-based analysis specialist. Thereafter I entered Fernandes Arquitetos Associados as a BIM Architect & Computational Designer, focused on big infrastructure projects like Train Stations and Airports.
Besides that, it is important to add that I've had some meaningful international experiences. Beginning with an internship at the University of Toronto, working with 3D Printing Prosthetics, an interexchange program at the University of Buenos Aires, a workshop at Parsons the New School for Design, a trip to China after being a finalist in an International Architecture Competition based there. My most relevant professional experience was the two-year architectural designer position I assumed at Perkins&Will, a Global Design Company where I could get really engaged in International Projects. And my last international experience was being part of the Global Visiting School 2022 as one of the tutors in partnership with the rat[LAB].
Being graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning got me a big understanding about geometries and Building Information Modelling (BIM). From the beginning of my course I started to study algorithms for Design, and this became my main tool for Design. So having worked as a Computational Designer for 10 years, I naturally crossed the borders between Design and Software. So finally from 2022 on, I have been worked with LEAPTHOUGHT as a Software Engineer to develop softwares for the AEC Industry.
